Register now for the 2025 Woody’s Triathlon on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Red Deer at the Michener Aquatic Centre and area. This annual event offers a variety of races for all ages and skill levels, from youth to adults. Participants can expect a challenging and rewarding course featuring swimming, cycling, and running. Saturday Morning:
- Junior Sprint: Designed for teens (ages 16-19), this race offers a sprint-distance course with swim, bike, and run segments, adjusted to match the adult sprint.
- Adult Sprint: Open to adults (ages 20+), this race includes a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run.
- Relay Sprint: Teams of three can compete in the relay category, with each member completing one leg of the race.
- Try-a-Tri: A beginner-friendly race offering shorter distances for those new to the sport.
Saturday Afternoon:
- Kids of Steel: Aimed at children and teens (ages 5-15), this race provides age-appropriate distances for young athletes to experience their first triathlon.
Youth Training: Practice sessions are available on May 26, June 2, 9, and an Aquathlon (swim/run) on June 16 to help young athletes prepare. The race takes place in the scenic surroundings of Red Deer, utilizing the Michener Aquatic Centre for the swim and the city’s parks and trails for the cycling and running segments along the Red Deer River.
