Art Speaks Learning Series in partnership with the Red Deer Arts Council
Art Speaks engages adults in topics on art or collections in an informal social setting. Presenters are local experts in their field or art practice.
There are three sub-themes to the Art Speaks Learning Series:
• The Business of Being an Artist series
• Artist and Collectors series
• Understanding Art series
The presenter talks for 1 hour, followed by a 30-minute Q&A period. This learning series is co-presented by the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) and Red Deer Arts Council (RDAC).
More Public Art Please! with Jamie McGillicky
This talk will shed light on the public art process, what commissioning bodies are looking for, and how artists who primarily work in the studio can move into the public realm. Learn more about public art, the City of Red Deer’s collection, and the often-unseen processes that pave the way for the creation of new artworks!
