Red Deer is home to so many wild and extreme obstacle courses and events that the wild, rugged and adventurous. Here are four extreme events to look forward to in Red Deer…
1) Slush Cup | March 29th
Canyon Ski Resort’s 5th Annual Slush Cup takes place at the end of March. Participants hurl their costumed bodies across an ice cold slush pond with the goal of making it to the dry shore at the far end of the pond. Join in or just come watch the shenanigans ensue – either way, this day will filled with hilariousness you don’t want to miss. Best part is, there’s no entry fee!
2) Foam Fest | June 20th
Held at Heritage Ranch, this event features over 16 obstacles and 5km of foamy fun! There’s plenty to do for the whole family including a kids zone, foam pit, inflatables, tons of food and more. The race itself is open to ages 8 and up and features lots of foam, mud, water and crazy obstacles. Walk it, run it, charge it, fun it!
3) Mud Hero | August 7th – 9th
Red Deer’s home to Canada’s largest obstacle event, Mud Hero Alberta – August 7th, 8th and 9th 2015 don’t miss out on this awesomely muddy event at Canyon Ski Resort. The 6km course features over 16 obstacles with mud, hills, water and some of the most rugged and challenging terrain Red Deer has to offer. Ps, don’t miss the 10, 000 watt after-party.
4) Spartan Race | September 12th and 13th
The Spartan Super takes place September 12th and features a grueling 13km course with 21 obstacles. The Spartan Sprint features 15 obstacles over a 5km course, taking place September 13th. There’s also a Spartan Junior event taking place on the 13th, with a number of different courses for different age ranges. All three events are taking place at Heritage Ranch. Get off your couch and go for it!
