Now that all the Christmas plans you’ve spent the last couple of weeks on are all rolling into place and everything is going to smoothly, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to do for New Year’s Eve.
For some it’s one of the biggest parties of the year filled with noise makers and party hats and for others it’s a celebration best spent with family and friends reflecting on the year past and looking forward to the year to come. Either way it’s an evening most enjoyed when there’s something to do.

New Year’s Eve Sleepover Dreams and Goals
Reflect on the year that just passed and set some goals for the one to come. The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame presents New Year’s Eve Sleepover Dreams and Goals. An event for those 8-12 years old to help have fun and plan for 2016. The event will includes crafts, games, meals, guest speaker and of course a sleep over in the museum itself! Be sure to register before December 22.
A New Year’s Eve Celebration with Charlie Jacobson
The Springbrook Multiplex is throwing a bit of a party this New Year’s Eve and is very excited to announce that Charlie Jacobson will be helping them ring in 2016! Tickets are just $20 and can be purchased at the Springbrook General Store. The even is all ages but there is also a cash bar to help in the celebration.
Dueling Pianos at the Radisson
If you’re looking for more of a formal evening well call up the baby sitter and break out the black tie – the Radisson has dueling pianos to help ring in 2016. The Radisson’s Windspear room will turn itself into a sight to be seen as Burn ‘N’ Mahm duel on the pianos playing all night along. The count down to 2016 begins at 7PM and the music starts gearing up at 8PM. Don’t forget to book a hotel room.
Sylvan Lake New Year’s Day Fireworks
There aren’t many things that match better than New Years and fireworks! Kicking off on New Year’s Day the Town of Sylvan Lake will be setting off fireworks on the pier. Kick off the first evening of 2016 with fireworks by the lake. The celebration starts at 7PM and can be view from all along the shore. Join the community in celebrating all the great things to come in 2016!
Whether you enjoy the fireworks out at Sylvan Lake or take in the dueling pianos at the Radisson Hotel please enjoy a fun and safe New Year’s Eve and may 2016 be just as good.
