Let Us Entertain You
Westerner Park is Central Alberta’s largest convention, trade show, agriculture, entertainment and sports facility and it is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2016. Since 1891, this facility has been at the heart of our community. Westerner Park is run by a not-for-profit organization supported by 50 staff and 150 volunteers who host over 1,500 events and 1.5 million visitors each year.
“We strive to make Westerner Park inclusive, engaging and available to our community, by bringing them together in celebration,” says Meghan Gustum, Marketing Manager, Westerner Park. “Our anniversary year celebrates the important role the community plays in our success.”
Conveniently located between Edmonton and Calgary, the 320-acre site features 4,200 parking stalls, large park and green areas, totally integrated exhibit, meeting room, entertainment and convention facilities, as well as a 99-unit full-service RV Park. The size and amenities provided and the facility’s competitive pricing are driving factors for bringing world class entertainment and events to the city, but it is the hardworking staff and the small town hospitality that keeps event planners and guests coming back.
Throughout 2016, Westerner Park’s 125th anniversary celebration will be tied into everything they do, including key events like the 2016 Mastercard Memorial Cup in May, the Westerner Days Fair & Exposition in July, the Westerner Championship Dairy Showcase in October and the AgriTrade Equipment Expo in November. Westerner Park was born from a sense of community and their milestone anniversary will involve the people, organizations and businesses of Central Alberta in celebrating their success.
“We invite the community and our guests to enjoy us as we celebrate the role they each have played and continue to play in our success,” Gustum says. “Let’s Make History!”
